It’s ok
Tiles are very small……….you’ll need good reading glasses. Also: levels are difficult to judge. Also, but not as important: each time you win, there are no increasing levels of difficulty and no points accrue. On a positive note, it’s extremely rigorous on your mental ability………closest comparison is Sudoku, which is tedious. This game tests various mental skills, such as memory, focus, concentration, so you’ll need a quiet space to yourself, since it’s akin to intense meditation.

A game that fills any void
I have several games I love and play daily and/or sporadically. I keep totally different games for different reasons. Mostly strategedy and word games. They fill any time that I have sitting, waiting and moments of just needed concentration. mahjong is one of my keepers. My mind needs to always be active

Best mahjong on App Store
This mahjong solitaire is my favorite on the App Store , it is simple just what I was looking for with no extra objectives or flashy game modes. No coins tokens in game currency nonsense. And the cherry on top is the app developer is very active providing updates that actually improve the game. I think they did an excellent job with this one!

So chill
An incredibly relaxed take on mahjong. I love the option to make sure the board is solvable combined with the limitless undo. It gives me the chance to replay a board that I know I can solve. The puzzler in me adores that.

Retro Game That Doesn’t Fry Your Brain

Classic Mahjong w/ No Fluff or Ads
I’m a gamedev myself, so I like to support other gamedevs making games the way I like to play them. I’m happy to pay for a game, and hate ads in my games. And this game is a fun, no-frills Mahjong experience that plays in 5m and… that’s it. It does exactly what it says it does. Classic Mahjong, pixel graphics, and no ads. It actually gives me a bit of nostalgia playing it. I’ve played 50 games already and I think it’s my new go-to relaxation game. Nicely

Too hard to see the tile layers
I enjoy the absence of commercials. However, it is too difficult to see the tile layers for someone who is older.

Problems resolved
When I first downloaded, the tiles looked blurry. The developer had replied that it might’ve been the version of my operating system. I didn’t have a chance to check that because I had deleted the app. After a few iOS updates, I decided to re-download the app and give it another try, and I guess that was the issue, because now it’s crystal clear. The only thing I don’t love is that the game can only be played in landscape mode, which is not very comfortable for my hands. But other than that it’s probably the game that I play the most. I appreciate the variety of game boards and that the developer isn’t data farming.

Wonderful!
Exactly what I was looking for! Other mahjong solitaire apps are too easy, barely requiring an ounce of forethought; just hunt, peck, hunt, peck, ad nauseam. On top of being terribly cute, Leon’s Mahjong offers actual puzzles that you *can* mess up by just mindlessly matching. That it also tells you exactly how many occurrences of a tile type to expect allows extra planning.
I am currently recovering from hand surgery with limited options for how to spend my time. This has been a real boon, especially in the morning as I drink my coffee and wait for my meds to kick in. Hats off to the developer! I love the inclusion of an avocado tile :)

Not so good
This game is a poor choice for seniors or anybody with failing eyesight. The tiles are not unique enough to spot differences, and I’m not crazy about the landscape-only game play. I’m glad it was only 99¢, so I don’t feel too bad about the purchase. I wish it was a little more like Vita Mahjong.

Fun, relaxing, and aesthetically pleasing
This is a really, really great matching Mahjong game. It might actually be the best I’ve ever played in terms of the overall experience. The tile art is beautiful. The user interface is so well designed. The backgrounds are beautiful. The music tracks sound really nice and don’t get annoying. This reminds me a lot of the early Shanghai games for the PC Engine, Sega Master System, and Sega Genesis. A hidden gem for sure.

Great so far, needs a little bit more
I’m having a lot of fun with this game, and I really only have two grievances:
1. It can be kind of hard to tell which pieces are blocked by other pieces due to a fairly uniform perspective, maybe some darker shadows could improve this, or some accessibility feature to add a slight shade to all blocked pieces.
2. A portrait mode would dramatically improve my user experience, I saw the developer was working on this back in December of last year, I hope they’re still working on it!

Excellent Mahjong
