this runs great on my old ipad . on new hardware the ui is hilariously tiny. please atleast update this gem to scale with new devices . also add purchase baring support across family thanks . get a version to work for ipad pros with the trackpad keyboard that would be sick . you could probably re-port it . i know bg3 players will start taking interest in this game .

Limited avenues of play 1) While you have the option of being an evil character, the story and the primary NPCs revolve around being a good character. 2) You can only beat the game with specific party profiles - high-powered magic users and fighters. Your other character classes offer limited support and can actually become liabilities in combat situations.

Menus are unreadably small, as are any help messages. They appear to have simply shrunk the pc screens to fit the phone.

Played it 6 years ago and worked perfectly on a tiny screen

I have gotten very far on throne of bhal. Faced a glitch that wouldn’t let me continue. Same issue with black pitts. A lot of time wasted to not complete the game. That game was extremely fun until those issues

It’s hard to read and see overall it’s a very bad port

Text was so small on the iphone I couldn’t complete character creation.

Game unplayable. No way to select enemies or aim attacks. You have to pause to select options. End up dead just because the pause button is hard to activate. Spent 30 minutes creating a character which can’t ever be used. The view of action is so bad you have to read the text to very slowly figure out what happened.

I played to the end of the first dungeon. Opened a description window for a dire charm scroll. Suddenly enemy dialog and fighting is happening behind the window and there is no way to close the window. No x, no swipe, nothing. Just stuck in the scroll screen while everything is happening. All other functions are greyed out and unavailable. I have no idea what would have solved this problem but there were not a lot of options to try. I was forced to quit and I lost all the progress. 3 stars for a buggy port of a classic game.

Says it’s bg3 EE …. Where are all the extra classes ?

Can’t get a refund but I’m totally allowed to play this game that has bugs who destroy every play through I try to do. 1 star you greedy pricks

When I go to the read the item description and tap on the red diamonds screen come up and I do know how to get it out

This used to be playable, but it’s now almost impossible to manage the different characters during a fight. It won’t let you simply select which character you want to take an action using the character portraits on the right, and it won’t let you select who to even cast a spell on half the time. These are the worst gameplay changes I’ve ever seen.

I played BG3 and thought this would be a fun game on my iPad. Unfortunately the combat is chaotic and you have to pause the game, then select actions on each character but you can’t move the characters to be able to select enemies. I wish they would’ve stated that on the game and am unable to get a refund per Apple even after purchasing this less than 24 hours ago. Not happy with Apple or this game, so 1 star!

Proud to say this is the first game that 6 year old me ever played. And I find myself still playing to today. I could drag on about how great this game is or what not. But just know that all your favorite RPGs can be traced back to this series. 22 years old and truly revolutionary and as close to perfection as we can get to a RPG. 9/10

Buggy and best to play on iPad

My favorite game of all time. So glad to run through it again. I noticed what I think might be a bug. In ToB I am running a mage/thief. I have boots of haste which make me run fast. I just finished the flail of the ages and when I equip it my character slows down; as though I’m no longer wearing the boots. When I unequip the flail of ages I am back to normal speed. This doesn’t happen with any other weapon. Thank you for a great game, hope this can be fixed!

Many years ago I purchased this for my computer used for $5. My ex was beside herself upset because I’d never even played the first Baldurs Gate. I played the heck outta that game. I was so excited to see this ported over to iOS I gladly bought it several years ago and played the heck outta it again. Just as beautiful with all the wonderful effects, compelling story, and challenge. If this is your first ride, hold on. While it isn’t a 3d whirlwind world, it is a Dungeons & Dragons masterpiece that is likely to occupy much of my time yet again . . . and again . . . and again . . . .

I have been playing for years. I have played the PC version and have recently started to mobile app version. I am having trouble playing Multiple player with my son because we can not connect to the same server. Help!!! How can I set it up so that he and I can adventure together?

I couldn’t make it through character creatation. As much as I love having these games on here this one cannot be played. It’s a small square on the phone. Civilization 6 does a better job. I gave one extra start bc I love the effort to bring it to mobile but it’s not there yet.

The link to their tech support is to a page which no longer exists. I guess I’ll restart and guess when I f’ed up the ranger storyline so I can avoid doing whatever caused me to not be able to complete it the first time.

If you had told me 8 years ago when I first played through the EE editions of this game on PC that I’d enjoy them more on an iPad I would have called you crazy and laughed. I am surprised how much more I enjoy these on the iPad compared with my PC. As text heavy games doing the reading on the iPad is very comfortable. I also felt more connected to my party and NPCs compared to using a traditional mouse and keyboard. I’ve played the entirety of the main game Shadows of Amn and haven’t quite finished Throne of Bhaal on the iPad, yet. The long press can be annoying at times but usually works. Sometimes in combat it can be difficult to know for sure if you have the intended enemy selected, you have to learn to tap the “feet” of anyone you want to talk with or attack. These are minor gripes and in no way inhibiting from the enjoyment of playing this classic on iPad. I had one bug I don’t remember on PC, for the Skinner Murder’s in the Bridge District, I tried speaking with the tanner before I took the evidence to the chief guard. Afterwards I went to the chief guard and gave him the evidence and he ran off, however when I go back to the tanner shop the tanner is there and I am unable to initiate conversation or do anything else. I can attack but he is unkillable and never turns red. Only bug and broken quest I experienced and not in any way breaking. And I did a lot of the companion side quests etc. If you’re new to these types of games I would recommend starting with the Baldur’s Gate EE and also finding a guide online to help build your character.
