They take WAY too much money from what you earn

I sold an item, but the buyer asked me to cancel the order. Even though the cancellation wasn’t my fault, eBay still charged me a $15 fee. That’s unbelievable and very disappointing. I do not recommend using this platform, and I will never use it again.

Sellers switch to other platforms
With the horrible customer service and extremely high seller fees, there are other platforms for us sellers to use that are much more cost efficient and way better in service. Vinted, Mercari, CollX to name a few

Selling on eBay risky
I want to file complain and advise people to be careful selling on Ebay.. a week ago I sold an Apple smart watch second generation on Ebay and the buyer received the Watch brand new in the box and opened a return claim.. you returned an empty box of the watch and he was able to get full refund. I was charged shipping label. Sending and returning.so I lost the product and the money on the top of that I had to pay for shipping cost and return prepaid shipping.cost .. It’s so easy anyone can order anything they want on eBay and open a return case and return anything they want and get their money back. Very easy to scam sellers on eBay…. I have filed a claim and a complaint. With Better Business Bureau and attorney general office.

Ebay expensive rip off
Need cheaper carrier shipping options, rates continue to go up and we are being charged ebay fees just to buy the customers shipping label. Customers are complaining the shipping is too high. Smartpost and Surepost need to be added.
Please lower fees. If you make 20k in sales, you will get 9k or less, after fees and high shipping cost you will be left with less then half of the sales total. Also, being rated on shipping costs is ridiculous, we charge what USPS charges, have the customer rate them, labels are $6-$7 dollars now.
Update: we found that we are paying seller fees on the tax amount that is remitted to the government, another rip off. Why are we paying fees on money that isn’t ours? This is illegal practice.
Update: allows buyers to rate you on shipping cost, usps raises rates aggressively throughout the year (new 8% fuel surcharge) + (12% increase in less than two months) we charge what they charge and customers are not happy with the constant increases.
Update: ebay doesn’t have a pitney bowes shipping account, now the shipping labels are $8.40 for the cheapest option which is outrageous. At this rate we will be going out of business.

Extended payout holds!
Be careful selling things that may be considered higher priced items. I have been a casual seller and buyer on eBay for 5 years and have never been told I had to wait 31 days for my funds to be available due to an extended hold. Until now. I find it a little ridiculous that I wasn’t told prior to selling this item that I would have to wait an extra long period of time to receive my payment. I shipped the item with an hour of it being sold, provided tracking and it was delivered within 3 days from when it was ordered. It was listed for about 2.5 months when it sold, so there was time to let me know it would take that long for the payout. I sold the item new for 30% of the actual retail value so it’s not like I stood to make money, and eBay already collected their 15% right off the top. They didn’t have to wait to collect their payout! They told me that it’s because I’m a casual seller, and go months sometimes before selling things, and that even though my account says seller doesn’t accept returns or refunds that eBay has a 30 day guarantee. I have 100% positive feedback and the buyer of the item left me positive feedback! Not only that, but I sold another item before this one for $150, and after eBay took their fees and then subtracted the money for shipping for the other item I collected a whopping $12.50 from that $150 dollar sale. If I were trying to get started with an online store, or need to sell things to pay bills, I would look elsewhere because it seems extremely ridiculous to me.

EVERYTHING in your stupid app is plastered with ads and links to eBay live. Please let us opt out of this so we can use the app in peace. I use eBay for fun purchases. Ads aren’t fun, I find myself closing the app out of frustration a lot lately.

always losing money
continuously losing money and no where to contact anyone!!! AND after you print your shipping labels and pay for them i’m left with no money and selling my items for nothing in return. i’m at -$35 after selling $30 worth of items just because of shipping labels. do better ebay take some notes from depop :) this contradicts the entire point of ebay and making money im doing all this work for absolutely nothing.

Don’t sell on eBay
With all the fees and how they treat people on this is absolutely terrible. 5 star seller and every transaction is on temporary hold to have a “positive experience” for the buyer and seller. So instead of receiving my funds from any of my sales on time or in a timely matter I’m out on temporary hold and an extra 8-10 days added on. I’ll find a different platform to sell thanks

PayPal doesn’t redirect
It’s frustrating that when I pay using PayPal it doesn’t redirect to PayPal to select the payment method. I overdraft my account because of this. PayPal has all my different payment methods. Immediately after the transaction I tried changing the payment method to my credit card not my back account but it wouldn’t let me. It should redirect me to PayPal before completing the transaction so I can choose which payment method I want to use.
