fav game ruined
I’ve played this game for so many years, I’ve lost count. I think a decade+. This massive overhaul has ruined it. My streak is gone. The game looks and feels completely different. Heartbroken. Why did the devs do this? Just make a new game, not destroy what I love.

Recent update ruined the game
I had really loved this game and left a fantastic review in the past.
The recent update totally ruined the quality of the game. It was classy look with a lot of strategic implications. Now the new design looks like very cheap children’s game. Please bring back the old game.

Worth my money
One of the best strategy games. A lot of replays with different settings. Many online players for more intense plays. I also used this game to teach some concepts of geopolitics and strategies. You might want to add some functions from A similar game "Warlands" such as 1) automatic deployment when the game is ending; 2) fortifying and relocating existing army to other adjacent tiles.

Used to be a great game.
I’ve been playing this game almost daily for 15 years. The old game was nearly perfect, but this new version is harder to see, plays slower, and didn’t keep my win-loss records on any of my devices (restored via upgrade backups since I started). It’s borderline unplayable now, and disappointing to see the 20,000 game win/loss record gone.

Ruined a simple game
What was a fun simple little game has now been changed for the worse. Terrible looking graphics, and (of course) lame changes to monetize $$ the game. SHAME!!

Wow!! What an update!
I’ve been playing this game for over a decade and was surprised to see an update after so many years. It’s the only game that always stays on my phone. It took a minute to get used to the new design but I love it! Can’t wait to dig into the chaos option more but am so happy I can play the original version. Thank you!!

Out of nowhere!
I've owned (and enjoyed) this game for so many years, it was in my "After *what* version of iOS will this game stop working? I can't believe it's worked *this* long!" category. Game update bad
Played this game daily but no more. Visuals are horrible, game sounds are painful to listen to. Bring back the classic look. Horrible update from design, game play is better, but sound and looks are bad.

Old version was better
This was one of my favorite and go to games, even after no updates. Your computer settings were perfect. And now with this update, it’s completely different. I’m trying to figure out how to download the legacy version. Any way you would bring back the old game okay in an update. I appreciate you updating, but the older version was so much better and harder.

Great update to a mainstay

This should have been a new game
This should have been Strategery 2. I would give it high stars (and bought the new one and rated it high also) if it had been a separate game or if the classic mode were included. It’s good but the classic one was simple. The new look is cartoony. Include the classic mode as an option and I’ll give this the five stars it deserves.

New update is awful
I’ve been playing this game for over a decade across multiple devices. Thousands of wins and losses and suddenly it’s completely different and my records are gone. Absolutely no warning.
The attack animation is ambiguous. The color scheme is atrocious, nothing in this is an improvement. Even the automatic placement on your borders is no longer an option. Put the classic version back as an option, not the “classic” mode which is worse in every way than it used to be.

Please bring back the old UI
I’ve loved and played this game every day for years. I loved it until I woke up one day with the game automatically updated to this latest version with a user interface and new concept that has lost its overall tone and ease of use. I can only give one star unless the old UI comes back.

It’s alive!
So happy to see some updates to this app after years away. It’s such a classic and I’m looking forward to playing online.
That said, I’m really confused by how my turn seems to automatically end before I get the chance to process the outcome. I’d really like to explicitly say “I’m done”. Also, what happened to the option to place reinforcements on the borders?

Completely Different
Game was forced updated and blew up the prior version and approach. Too complex of a game. Look and feel of prior game completely gone. Sliders for settings seemingly don’t change anything in terms of hex and color blind etc. disappointed to see the prior format and approach gone.

Classic mode is NOT CLASSIC. This is NOT the app I bought. This abomination plays NOTHING like the game I like. I hate this!!!!
Lex, if you want to introduce a completely new game, then call it something else. Don't destroy an existing game for some garbage you wanted to do.

Why
The old game was great. I had been playing it consistently for years. I never expected an update since one never came, and all of a sudden the “update all” button did me dirty.
Please, please, please bring back a “legacy” version or something that lets me play the old game. The new game is fundamentally different. I would not have kept the game around this long if this is what was on offer.

Hate the new look!
This game was perfect and has been my go-to offline game since 2009.
Admittedly, I have yet to play any of the new features, but please, please, please go back to the classic hex looking board (or at least make it an available setting). The new look is sloppy; the swirling water and background, and crooked army dots are driving me nuts. I always thought I would lose this game to some future iOS update, but instead the app got an update it didn’t need and the new visuals alone are going to kill it for me.

Strategery was a great game.
I’ve been playing Strategery since the beginning, 1000’s of games. It reminded me of a famous board game from when I was young. Now the update changed the whole feel of the game, and not for the better. Another game ruined, thanks Lex
