Double Paywall
I’ve been using Taimi for about a week and purchased a subscription because the free version is extremely limited. While I appreciate the app’s design and some of its features, I’m disappointed by what appears to be it’s matching strategy. The app seems to learn your preferences based on the profiles you like and interact with. As it identifies people who appear to be much better matches for you, many of those profiles are locked behind an additional paid “Diamond” feature. In other words, after already paying for a subscription, you’re asked to pay even more just to express interest in some of the people the app itself has determined are your best matches. If that’s how the system works, it seems like double monetization. A paid subscription should include the ability to like and message anyone on the platform who is available to you, not require another purchase for the people you’re most likely to connect with. I’d gladly give it a higher rating if the subscription truly unlocked the full dating experience instead of putting the best potential matches behind another paywall. I don’t recommend this app.

Constantly changes settings
Unimpressed. If you set a filter by age and/or distance, the app will constantly change them. Your settings are not respected. It isn’t the worst app but just… mediocre.

Practically Unusable
I want to like this app, I really do. I even met a partner on here who I dated for a year! However, it’s just unusable! To start, it spans you with notifications. Ever wanted an app to tell you every time someone views your profile? No? Well it’s enabled by default, so if you want to keep your sanity you’d better turn it off. Second, it has these auto messages you can send to start a chat. Don’t want to send them? Well you’d better not leave a match waiting too long or Taimi will send a message without asking. And third, it literally locks you out of liking certain people unless you pay. It’ll show you them all the time, but any attempt to interact with them opens a pay window. Swiping and one of these accounts shows up? Unless you didn’t notice, paywall. It’s insidious. Either these are bots, which is scummy, or these are real accounts for real people that are being used as bait without permission. Have I been used like that? I understand that they need to make money, but they’ve already got adds, limited swipes, a priority message system. What’s the point of locked accounts aside from making you just feel bad?
In short, there’s literally no reason to use Taimi. Save yourself the headache and try literally anything else.

For some reason it shows you people that are multiple states away even if you set it to 30 miles away which wouldnt be a big deal if this app didnt have a daily action point limit and every dislike or block counts towards it which results in being out of moves in about a minute of swiping, i ended up buying the gold subscription to only find out after that it does nothing useful and that the app is designed around the gold+ tier to actually get anywhere

Notifications are ridiculous
Over half the time notifications you get are not accurate. At least 3 times today I got a notice that someone messaged me, opened the app and it would not be true. What’s the point of spamming someone with fake notifications?
Side note: there’s a AI feature to swipe/message profiles. I would highly recommend avoiding it.

Flooded with instant replies and automatic, generic, messages with no emotions, you're wasting time talking to bots that initiate conversations, pretending to like you to trick you into subscribing. They make you think you're popular and liked by many, but they're just polite bots without real feelings, aiming to scam you from dating made-up chatbots with no disclosure that the chatbot accounts are luring you to believe you are popular, liked by many, messaging you day and night so you subscribe to make money from you talking to AI chatbot companions to please you with empty excitements

This app is genuinely a security risk. People on here are wired, creeps or have intentions of putting you in danger. Other than that I did met my bf on here, and it’s been great. But we both have horror stories of awful people we met on this app. Add more precautions and take care of bot accounts

Paywalled and full of straight men
So many basic features are locked behind a paywall, and even the lowest tier subscription is too expensive. The app is also full of chasers and straight men. Out of the hundreds of people I’ve encountered on this app, only a few were LGBTQ+.

I don’t like how it automatically matches you with people you have zero interest in and never swiped right on. It also automatically sends people you match with messages and sends you false notifications informing you that someone sent you a message, you log in & there’s no message from them. Match making
The app would give you free swipes every 24 hours but it would not allow you to like someone that views your profile. They will force you to pay for it too. Doesn’t make any sense at all. It will also keep showing people that you unliked previously. So it would make you loose the swipes.

This app is dead
This app is 100% ai now. Unless you like men, like aggressively desperate gay men, this app is dead. I’d say try it yourself, but honestly don’t bother. The AI is constantly churning out the same profiles over and over, you will never know it’s all ai unless you spend money(which is why it’s so expensive, they know they can only get you once now). I spent the money, and I’m telling you now, it’s all Ai fake profiles… and aggressively gay men.
